Privacy Policy

The short version

• Reading this site needs no account. An optional account exists for a small members area; on the launch date it stores your sign-in details and nothing else, because saving tool results and submitting benchmarks are not open yet.
• Google Analytics 4 counts page views and anonymised tool usage. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland its cookies stay off through Google Consent Mode.
• No advertising is served. Google AdSense is not enabled, and this policy will be updated before it is.
• No chat widget, no newsletter, no comments and no payment processing.

Who runs this site

GenVidKit (www.genvidkit.com) is an independent educational site run by a solo maintainer. It is not affiliated with MiniMax, Hailuo AI, Hugging Face, or ComfyUI. More background is on the About page; the maintainer can be reached through the Contact page.

What this site collects on its own

Hosting and abuse prevention. The site runs on Cloudflare Workers, with Cloudflare D1 as its database. Your IP address is used to rate-limit requests at Cloudflare's edge and again inside the application, keyed by IP address, method and path. Those counters exist to control request frequency, not to build reader profiles. Cloudflare's Workers observability logging is switched on for the deployment, so request logs are held by Cloudflare under its own retention settings; the maintainer reads them only to investigate errors and abuse.

Cookies this site sets itself. Three cookies come from the site's own code; the analytics cookies are described in the next section.

• A PARAGLIDE_LOCALE cookie may be set to remember a language choice. The site currently ships one language, English, so there is no language to switch to.
• If you arrive through a link that carries a utm_source parameter, that value — trimmed to letters, digits, dots and dashes — is stored in a utm_source cookie for 30 days so the maintainer can see which referral brought you. It is recorded on your account only if you create one.
• If you sign in, a session cookie keeps you signed in. The matching session record stores its expiry, the IP address and the browser user-agent string of the sign-in.

Accounts. Every page and the GPU calculator work without an account. An optional account can be created with an email address and a password; the password is stored as a scrypt hash, never in clear text. Sign-in with GitHub or Google is offered only when the maintainer has configured those providers, and Google One Tap only when it is switched on as well. Depending on configuration, email-address verification and password-reset messages are sent by the configured email provider (Resend or Cloudflare Email); a password-reset link expires after one hour and a verification link after 24 hours. An account record holds your name, email address, whether it is verified, an optional profile image, the IP address and browser language observed when the account was created, the utm_source value described above, and — for GitHub or Google sign-in — the provider's account identifier and tokens.

Members area. After signing in you reach a members area that is excluded from search engines. There you can change your name and profile image; a profile image is uploaded to the site's object storage, accepts JPEG, PNG and WebP only, and the whole upload request is limited to 5 MB. The members area also carries pages inherited from the application framework — billing, payments, credits, API keys and support tickets. The site is free and takes no payment, so the billing and payment pages have nothing to record and the credits page shows a balance that nothing on the site can spend or buy. An API key you create is stored as a SHA-256 hash. A support ticket you open — its title, your messages and any images you attach — is stored in the site's database and object storage so the maintainer can answer it.

Tool inputs, saved results and benchmark submissions. Nothing you enter into the GPU calculator is stored on the server: the calculator has no save function yet, and its "Submit your benchmark" button only shows a sign-in prompt or a "not available yet" notice. The application contains endpoints for saving results and for benchmark submissions with screenshots, but no page uses them yet. When saving or submissions open, this policy will be updated first to say what is stored, what becomes public and for how long.

Account deletion. There is no self-service deletion button yet. Email the maintainer from the address on the account and the account record, its sessions, linked sign-in providers, profile image, API keys and support tickets will be deleted. Because benchmark submissions are not open, there are no published contributions to keep back; how published contributions are treated on deletion will be added here when submissions open.

Email. If you write to us, we receive your address and whatever you include in the message. It is used to reply, kept as ordinary correspondence, never added to a mailing list and never sold.

Google Analytics 4

This site uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to see which pages are read and roughly where visitors come from. GA4 sets first-party cookies (names beginning with _ga) and records the pages you visit, the referring site, browser and device type, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses, and this site never sends it names, email addresses or any other directly identifying information.

The site also sends GA4 a small set of custom tool-usage events: input changes, displayed results, downloads, next-step links and the "Generate an 8-second hosted preview" button on the GPU calculator. They never contain free text such as CPU model names, prompts or error logs; numeric inputs are reported as ranges (for example "12-16g"); page addresses omit query strings and fragments. The hosted-preview event carries only a GPU-memory band, the result colour and an estimated-duration band. These events are never written to the site's own database.

• In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, analytics storage is denied by default through Google Consent Mode, so GA4 sets no cookies there; without your consent it receives only cookieless, aggregate signals that are not linked to you.
• Anywhere, you can block measurement with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or by blocking cookies for this site in your browser.
• Analytics data is retained by Google for the period configured in the Analytics property, is read only in aggregate — to learn which guides help and which need rewriting — and is never sold or joined with other data about you.

Advertising and third-party cookies (Google AdSense)

Google AdSense is not enabled on this site. No advertising script loads and no advertising cookies are set by this site. The application can load AdSense only when a publisher ID is entered in its configuration, and that field is empty. Before advertising is enabled, this policy will be updated to describe the vendors, the cookies they use and how to opt out of personalised ads, and visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland will be asked for consent first. Independently of this site, you can manage how Google personalises ads for you in Google Ads Settings.

Consent where the law requires it

Every page runs Google Consent Mode before any Google script loads. If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, advertising storage, analytics storage, advertising user data and advertising personalisation are all denied by default, and there is currently no banner to change that: with no advertising on the site there is nothing to consent to, and analytics stays cookieless in those regions. Elsewhere the same four signals default to granted, which is why GA4 cookies are set outside those regions. When advertising is enabled, a consent banner from a Google-certified consent management platform will ask for your choice, and you will be able to change it later.

What this site does not do

• No advertising, no second analytics provider and no third-party chat widget: the application can load each of them only when configured, and none is configured.
• No newsletter, no comments and no contact form — the only way to write to the site is email.
• No payment processing: the site is free, the pricing page is unlisted, and no payment provider is configured.
• No requests for your precise location.
• No personal information in page URLs, and none in the addresses reported to analytics.
• No selling of personal information.

Children's privacy

This site documents GPU benchmarks and local AI video tooling for a general technical audience. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and it will be deleted.

Your choices and rights

You can block or clear cookies in your browser at any time, and the Google Analytics opt-out link above stops measurement in your browser. If you have an account, you can change your name and profile image in the members area and sign out from any page. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information. The personal information this site itself holds is your account data, if you created an account, and correspondence you have sent us — email the maintainer and it will be provided, corrected or deleted on request. Data held by Google Analytics is controlled through the Google links above.

Changes to this policy

Updates are dated at the top of this page. If a change is material — such as enabling advertising, opening benchmark submissions or saved results, or adding an analytics provider — the change will be described here, not just re-dated.
